Having left school at 16, Dinah worked in Personnel (Human Resources) for Mercury Communications and was part of their skills transition team, taking their core workforce from telex to fax to internet. Dinah joined SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals in the late 1980’s and became their International Event Manager in 1991. She managed their event & training programme for the entire product range, world-wide.
In 2003 Dinah set up her first business, in event management, achieving a six figure turnover in the first 6 months. In 2006 she helped her husband set up his own roofing business, specialising in repairing and maintaining, not replacing roofs. In 2007 they became a Limited Company – Reliable Roofer Ltd – and they continue to thrive today.
As the owner of three successful businesses, in diverse markets, Dinah has been able to help business owners make effective use of networking to grow not just their business, but their skills. Dinah was a member of the BNI (Business Network International) European Director Training Team and the Director of Training for BNI in the Netherlands. She also successfully ran one of their London regions for two and a half years, mentoring, training and supporting over 1,000 business owners in West and North London.
When Dinah was 26, she had a road accident and was told she would never walk again. After almost twelve years depending on her electric wheelchair for mobility (during which time she travelled the world in her role with SmithKline Beecham), Dinah was back on her feet. There is no question that her ability to overcome what seemed insurmountable has driven her in every aspect of her business, and personal life.
Her total belief that “there is no box” allows people to look at their goals in a new way and to be accountable for their results. Her own experiences, and ability to overcome life’s challenges, inspire others to take action and her practical, doable approach will leave them with the tools to take action towards real change.
Dinah lives in West London with her husband, John and their daughter Hannah. She is passionate about people, business, fast cars and chocolate.
